FAQ's (We know you have them)

Updated: Jul 5, 2023

We often get a number of enquiries with similar questions, so hopefully this blog answers them all;

Do you provide the cleaning products & equipment?

Yes we do. We provide everything needed to make your house sparkle. All the products, cloths, hoover and mop. We use a combination of products but where possible we try to use 'Method' products which are plant based.

Why do we use our own products?: We take health and safety seriously and we have the safety data sheets for all of the cleaning products that we use. Of course, we are happy to use products that you may want us to use, but we do ask that you let us know before hand so we can download the safety data sheets for our records.

Are you insured?

We sure are. Now, we don't expect to ever need to use it, but having that peace of mind that it is available, for both us and our clients is priceless. We are insured with Simply Business for £1,000,000.

You have a list on your site stating what a general clean involves, is that set in stone?

Not at all. It is always helpful for new and potential customers to get a general idea of what is usually offered. This is why we have the chart on the site. However, each client is different and have varied requirements.

We have some clients that require more tidying than cleaning. Others that don't have time to fold the laundry or put the washing out. Some clients like us to reorganise their spaces, and of course most just want extra help as and where it is needed.

You are paying for our time in a housekeeping capacity, whether that be cleaning, tidying or hanging out your washing.

How much do you charge?

We completely understand that the cost of living is increasing to a worrying level, so we have tried to keep our costs down as much as possible. We are also feeling the pinch of the current climate.

Our hourly price is £17.00. This covers the housekeepers wage, insurance, fuel and cleaning products supplied.

Do you have a DBS and will I meet you/our housekeeper beforehand?

DBS checks are updated 2 yearly, unless there is reason to do one sooner.

All new clients will have a meet and greet with Kelly (owner) and the allocated housekeeper. This will be arranged at a convenient time for all, and most happen early evening.

What can I expect from a meet and greet?

We want you to be happy with the person that you are inviting into your home. It is a daunting thing, having a stranger in your personal space. Our meet and greets are designed for this reason.

Its a very informal meet. You get to show us around your home and fill us in on exactly what you want from the service, and what is realistic in the time frame you have chosen. The meets are also a chance to go over details such as any allergies, any pets (names and such like so we don't let the wrong animal in/out). Any special requirements and if you are going to be providing a key or code etc.

It is also a chance for you to put a face to the name, and to have a good chat with your housekeeper. Your happiness is the most important aspect of the meet, so please ask anything you want.

How do I pay?

This will be discussed at your meet and greet as there are different ways, and its what is more suitable for you.

Bank Transfer: We email invoices out on the 28th of the month which covers the full month. For example, the 28th June invoice will cover everything from the 1st June to the 30th June. Invoices are due within 7 days.

We can also send weekly invoices if you prefer to pay after each job is complete.

Cash: If you wish to leave cash then that is fine, We asked that to avoid any confusion, any money is left in an envelope labelled 'Housekeeping Hero' and left in an agreed place.

Unfortunately, we do not accept cheque payments.

Do I need to be in/out when you arrive?

We don't mind if you are in or out. We will work around you if you are working from home, or just having a day off.

If you are out when we arrive then you will need to ensure that we are able to gain entry. Some clients have a key safe, we also hold some keys (they're put on a numbered key ring and kept in a combination key box in the office.)

So there you go. A quick run down of the frequently asked questions. If you have a question that we have not covered then please get in touch. We will be happy to answer and maybe even add it to the blog!
